As we come to the end of February 2024, let's take a moment to reflect on the glorious days spent in our beloved Hermanus.
Strolls along Grotto Beach, feeling the sand beneath our toes and the effervescence of the "champagne air" in our hair, remain etched in our minds.
Sundowners at Dutchies while savouring the golden hues of sunset and toasting to another carefree day well spent.
Rounds of golf at the Hermanus Golf Course with the gentle swish of clubs meeting balls, the lush green expanse stretching out before us, and the camaraderie shared among family and friends.
Saturday mornings at the vibey Hermanus Country Market collecting freshly baked bread and delectable local cheeses to add to our home table, stopping for locally brewed coffee or freshly shucked oysters with a glass of bubbly, or gathering around a table with delectable "home-made" eats after wondering the stalls of hand crafted goods and art.
Lucky enough to catch a First Friday Art Walk; we were immersed in a world of creativity and inspiration. Early evening streets came alive as we wondered through the maze of galleries buzzing with chatter from serious art collectors and frivolous onlookers.
Whether it was a leisurely morning pick-me-up or an afternoon treat, a visit to the bright sun trap at Oscars never failed to delight; as did the deliciously nutritious breakfasts & lunches at Just Pure Bistro, with his trendy black and white decor, overlooking the blue bay. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee mingled with the scent of warm pastries, created a tantalizing symphony that beckoned us to their tables.
Braving the "stop and goes" left after the storm, a venture down the Hemel & Aarde Valley to the most southerly wineries, found each sip a journey of discovery, every glass revealing a new layer of complexity and character. Against the backdrop of rolling vineyards and majestic mountains, we savoured the fruits of the land, knowing that each bottle held a story waiting to be told.
We raised our Champagne glasses in a toast to another unforgettable holiday season in Hermanus as we invite you to join us for a final celebration of Summer 23/24.
