Where Whales and Beauty Converge.  Westcliff, with its New Harbour, enchanting whale-watching opportunities, the mesmerizing Cliff Path, and breathtaking sea views, offers a unique and captivating experience. Marine Drive in central Hermanus becomes Westcliff Rd as it follows the coastline westwards.  The top end of Westcliff Rd is an easy walk into town centre, and it's only 20 minutes or so on foot from the bottom, New Harbour, end.

The Cliff Path is a scenic trail that stretches along the rugged coastline of Westcliff - and the rest of the coastline of Hermanus - offering panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. This well-maintained path is perfect for leisurely walks or invigorating jogs. From June to November, Southern Right Whales providing an awe-inspiring spectacle of breaching, tail-slapping, and spouting. The famous Cliff Path, a must-visit trail, offers unrivalled views of these majestic creatures as they frolic in the bay just meters from the shoreline.  Besides whale-watching, the Cliff Path treats visitors to mesmerizing sunsets, occasional dolphin sightings, and the calming sound of waves crashing against the rocks.

The delightful restaurants, such as Ficks and Heritage Restaurant, add a culinary charm to this already picturesque location, and the New Harbour, where the maritime charm meets contemporary infrastructure, is home to the famous Rock Restaurant, the Breakfast Room and Gecko Bar, along with Quayside Cabin on the lower slip-way.  It's a small bustling harbour which serves as a hub for various fishing activities, boat trips, and marine excursions. It's an excellent spot to experience the authentic fishing culture of Hermanus and witness fishermen bringing in their fresh catches.
